About
The Story
Hello, my name is Jason McComb (The Net Analyst) and I conceived the idea for a mini-review website during a high-school computer programming class in 1998. The original website was created from scratch with html coding and launched on a free web hosting service. The website was nothing to be proud of at the time. It consisted of a murky green background with yellow text and the company logo was an over-sized rodent that "found good stuff on the web"…
Since then, the idea has come a long way and I have added a new team member as a consultant/editor. The site was reborn in April 2007 as TheNetAnalyst.com and after thousands of hours of development, design, redesign, and article writing we have managed to reach approximately 200,000 people in the online community.
Our Goal
We aim to provide accurate, honest, and useful information about products, websites, and online deals found via the web. We do this by not only providing a few good online deals, but also by educating consumers with our own collection of money saving ideas and thoughtful commentary.
Our Philosophy
The general philosophy of this website is that, "You can’t save money if you don’t know how… or where it can be saved." We also don’t believe that living like a pauper will bring any joy to your life. That is why getting the lowest price on the things we want or need is so important.
This is not a philosophy that involves being cheap, but it does require being intelligent about what you buy and how you save. We want you to get a good deal, save money, and have a healthy financial life.
Product Testing
We order products/services from just about every merchant mentioned on this website. We do this so that we can explain in simple terms how good the deal really is and if there are any catches to be aware of. We also encourage you leave us your comments as we take your feedback very seriously.
Sincerely,
Jason McComb
The Net Analyst
